Job Summary
Chief Psychiatrist provides diagnostic evaluation and treatment to inmates at Racine County Jail, supervising site staff, approving/discharging patients, and guiding Behavioral Health Unit activities. Responsibilities include onsite psychiatric assessments, writing summaries of history, diagnosis and treatment, providing individual and/or group therapy, medication management, and participation in treatment planning, staff education, and interdepartmental collaboration. Requires medical degree, psychiatric residency completion, Wisconsin licensure, and active DEA number. The role entails leadership and clinical direction within a correctional health setting and involvement in discharge planning and program development. PRN, 4 hours weekly, Wisconsin location.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of medical school and have completed an appropriate psychiatric residency.
- Must be licensed to practice in the state of Wisconsin.
- Current DEA number.
