Job Summary
Part-time Psychiatrist to support Crisis Care Center operations including the Crisis Stabilization Unit, Behavioral Health Urgent Care, and Mobile Crisis Services. Responsibilities include psychiatric evaluation and re-evaluation, medication orders/prescribing, patient monitoring, coordination of care with nursing staff, supervision of Advanced Practice Providers, discharge planning, clinical documentation, and leadership duties on committees. Requires leadership and teamwork within an interdisciplinary group, knowledge of clinical care processes, compliance with licensing and accreditation standards, and the ability to provide consultations across emergency and inpatient settings. Must hold a Medical Degree, board certification in Psychiatry ( Child & Adolescent preferred), and Michigan licensure with DEA and CDS registrations. Part-time schedule with potential travel to various sites in Wayne County and the State of Michigan; vaccination for COVID-19 is required per organizational policy.
Required Qualifications
- A Medical Degree from an accredited School of Medicine
- Board Certification in Psychiatry
- Three (3) years of experience in a Mental Health Program with experience in policy writing, accreditation activities, staff development, peer review management of direct report staff
- A valid and current Michigan License to practice as a physician
- A valid and current Michigan controlled substance license
- Valid and current Drug Enforcement Agency Registration
- A valid State of Michigan Driver’s License with a safe and acceptable driving record
