Job Summary
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and provide direct care to clients via telehealth, including reviewing vital signs, blood work, and symptoms. Prescribe medications when necessary and provide treatment authorizations by telephone. Act as a physician member of a multidisciplinary team, conferring with staff, patients, and families regarding diagnosis and treatment recommendations. Develop protocols, standardize procedures, and contribute to program development while managing clinical activities such as utilization review and quality assurance. Maintain confidentiality and ensure all services meet accepted medical standards. Participate in administrative meetings and provide in-service training to program staff. Available for PRN assignments with hourly pay, working from home in a private space.
Required Qualifications
- Up-to-date clinical practice of psychiatry, including the recovery model, strengths based treatment, and dual diagnosis treatment, with client/family involvement
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of evaluation of effective and evidenced-based mental health treatment programs and services
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and County laws and regulations applicable to mental health programs, and the Revised 09.22.25 relationship of Federal and State programs to local government services and programming
- Ability to ensure appropriate clinical supervision and direction for licensed and/or certified personnel
- Ability to plan, organize, supervise and administer the clinical programs and services provided
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with community members and organizations
- Ability to speak and write clearly and concisely
- Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in all states that Within Health provide care in
- Must have completed a residency training program in psychiatry which is approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and which resulted in Board eligibility
- Must not be excluded, suspended, debarred or otherwise ineligible to participate in the Medicare, Medicaid or other government payer programs
- Superior interpersonal skills
- Superb judgment, problem-solving and cognitive skills
- Must have reliable internet connection
- Must be comfortable operating a computer and smart-phone and navigate applications within macOS and iOS
- Must be comfortable communicating with colleagues via chat, telephone, and video calls
- Must be able to sit for the majority of the shift
- This is a work-from-home position. Work should be performed in a private, quiet space with minimal background noise
