Job Summary
Diagnose and treat individuals in a state facility under general supervision, conducting daily rounds to examine patients and modify treatment plans. Interview newly admitted individuals for history taking, perform physical and intellectual evaluations, and conduct individual and group psychotherapy. Prescribe medications and manage medical or surgical treatments while instructing unit staff on general medical management. Review patient records, investigate complaints, and meet with the team to determine individualized treatment plans.
Required Qualifications
- license to practice medicine and surgery issued by the Connecticut Department of Public Health
- at least one (1) year of residency program experience in psychiatry approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
