Job Summary
The role of Psychiatrist involves providing comprehensive mental health care in a correctional setting, including psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management. Responsibilities include conducting psychiatric assessments, developing treatment plans, providing crisis intervention, and offering psychotherapy while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Candidates should have relevant licenses, training in Psychiatry, and experience in correctional or underserved patient care. Participation in quality improvement initiatives and supervisory roles may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California (MD or DO).
- Post graduate training in General Psychiatry; training or experience in Forensic Psychiatry is very helpful.
- Active and unrestricted DEA Registration (or be willing to obtain Registration).
- Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved) prior to Start Date.
Desired Qualifications
- Board Certification in Psychiatry is preferred.
- Experience in correctional healthcare or other settings with underserved patients preferred.
- Experience in diagnosis, treatment planning, and providing healthcare services in a managed care or correctional facility setting is highly desired.
