Job Summary
Plan, coordinate and manage the mental health program and services of the facility; accept referrals for inmate evaluations and make necessary judgments and recommendations; coordinate mental health referrals to other resources; develop and conduct preventative mental health programs including inmate training, counseling, recreation activities, discipline, orientation and other support services; provide staff training in counseling techniques (group and individual); prepare and conduct special training programs for staff; maintain confidentiality of inmates and files per HIPAA; promote positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in psychiatry preferred; must be MD specialty in psychiatry
- Board certified in psychiatry
- License or certification as required by the state of Ohio
- Valid driver's license in Ohio with acceptable driving record
- Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements
