Job Summary
Provide clinical assessment and psychiatric treatment for adults, including ECT, in both community and inpatient settings. Deliver expert leadership and consultation to GPs, healthcare professionals, and carers across the region while building partnerships with the Chief Psychiatrist and local GPs to ensure coordinated care. Contribute to mental health service development through planning, implementation, and evaluation processes. Mentor registrars and participate in quality improvement projects alongside a multidisciplinary team. Manage caseloads and on-call rotations within a supportive environment, with manageable schedules supporting work-life balance.
Required Qualifications
- UK trained MRCPsych with CCT awarded from August 2007
- Competent authority trained Psychiatrists
- UK Psychiatrists with CESR
- Eligible for registration by the Medical Board of Australia as a specialist in psychiatry
- Fellowship or be eligible for fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or approved equivalent
- Extensive clinical experience in general mental health
