Job Summary
Board-certified or board-eligible psychiatrist sought to provide comprehensive onsite psychiatric services at the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center in Memphis, TN. Responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis and treatment planning, managing admissions and transfers, follow-up care and e-consults, treatment of severe and complex cases, and collaboration with VA mental health staff and interdisciplinary teams. Participate in quality assurance, peer reviews, and adherence to VA policies. Schedule includes typical clinic hours with on-call coverage evenings, weekends, and holidays. Qualifications include an active U.S. MD/DO license, board certification/eligibility in psychiatry, BLS/ACLS, credentialing readiness, and strong clinical competency; preferred experience in VA/federal or military healthcare.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted MD or DO license in any U.S. state
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Ability to pass federal credentialing, privileging, and background screening
- Strong clinical competency in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatry
