Job Summary
Provide direct psychiatric care across the lifespan within the ICE detention setting, including diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and medication management. Respond to medical emergencies and collaborate with primary care providers; deliver individual and group psychotherapy using evidence-based treatments; conduct diagnostic testing and ensure proper follow-up care. Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications, educate patients on diagnoses and treatment goals, and support resources. Adhere to IHSC and APA standards, participate in quality improvement and documentation efforts, maintain HIPAA-compliant electronic health records, and contribute to staff safety and infection control programs.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited U.S. or equivalent foreign medical school
- Minimum of one year as a licensed psychiatrist
- Unrestricted medical license, maintained in good standing
- Board Certified or eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
