Job Summary
Psychiatrist will provide direct psychiatric services to children and adolescents as part of the Enhanced Family Foster Care department, including psychiatric evaluations, mental health developmental assessments, and medication management. Responsibilities include completing evaluations and documentation per stakeholder requirements, submitting prescriptions via electronic prescription portal, contributing to treatment planning with a multidisciplinary team, participating in meetings/case conferences for high-risk cases, and offering crisis intervention as needed while guiding youth and families. Requires strong understanding of DSM-V and ICD-10 codes and knowledge of psychotropic medications in pediatric populations; applicants will collaborate with A29-I staff and ensure timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
Required Qualifications
- Strong treatment and evaluation experience with child and adolescent population
- Strong understanding of DSM-V and ICD 10-codes utilized for diagnostic purposes
- Strong understanding of the usage and side effects of psychotropic medications on children and adolescents
- Ability to manage complex or recurring concerns through sound clinical judgement
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
