Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including clinical formulations and recommendations, and prescribe medications in accordance with current standards of care. Engage family members and collateral contacts in treatment planning and care coordination while producing timely, high-quality clinical documentation and billing for services. Provide clinical supervision to psychiatric residents and offer guidance to APRNs regarding psychiatric care and treatment needs. Participate in clinical team meetings with outpatient clinicians, supervisors, and other care partners, utilizing agency technology to support teamwork and continuous improvement. This role supports BHN's outpatient and emergency programs, delivering culturally responsive behavioral health care to diverse populations across Massachusetts since 1938.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree with completed residency training in Psychiatry
- Current Massachusetts medical license as an MD or DO
- Current Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate
- Current Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration
- Broad knowledge of mental illness and current psychopharmacologic interventions
- Willingness and demonstrated ability to treat challenging and diverse populations with sound clinical judgment
- Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, interpersonal, and consultation skills
- Proficiency with clinical and agency technology, along with strong organization, reliability, and openness to technological change
