Job Summary
Psychiatric Technician role in the QMHA program provides direct care to children and adolescents experiencing acute psychiatric episodes. Responsibilities include conducting evaluations and assessments, ensuring safety and basic needs, supporting developmental needs per treatment plans, teaching social and therapeutic skills, facilitating educational and skills groups, and documenting notes with compliant incident reporting. The role utilizes Collaborative Problem Solving, works within a multidisciplinary team, and requires QMHA certification or eligibility, plus a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Strong communication, problem-solving, and computer skills are essential, along with the physical ability to perform required interventions and duties.
Required Qualifications
- QMHA certification required
- QMHA registered or eligible
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant area of study as defined by the QMHA certification or 3 years of relevant behavioral health occupational experience
