Job Summary
Provide cleanliness, grooming, rest, nourishment, and elimination as needed while encouraging independent behavior. Monitor patients for special risks such as falls, elopement, and suicide attempts, intervening during escalations or suicidal behavior. Report observations to the Registered Nurse and assist in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment. Participate in therapeutic milieu activities, motivate patients for scheduled daily activities, and accompany them on off-unit trips or diagnostic tests. Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge procedures. Attend individual treatment planning when requested. This Full-Time Night Shift position operates 7:30pm–8am with an every other weekend requirement. Candidates must hold an approved psychiatric technician training program, one year of relevant experience, and current BCLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school
- Minimum two years of college with academic work in psychology or related field
- Graduation from an approved psychiatric or nursing technician training program
- One or more years' experience working as a Clinical Associate, Nursing Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or Psychiatric Technician
- Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support Card Certification required
- Full-Time Night Shift position
- Every other weekend requirement
