Job Summary
Oversee mental health care for inmates by assessing referrals for psychiatric medication, rendering accurate diagnoses, and utilizing therapeutic interventions during incarceration. Coordinate with medical and correctional personnel to optimize care while maintaining concise, accurate documentation for all charts. Ensure services comply with NCCHC, ACA, and professional medical standards through a collaborative patient management approach. Build productive relationships with supervisors, security staff, healthcare teams, and patients while adhering to internal policies and contractual obligations. Maintain firm therapeutic boundaries and participate in ongoing continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- Current, valid MD or NP License
- Highly esteemed in moral and ethical character
- Maintains firm boundaries in therapeutic relationships
- Ability to establish and maintain rapport
- Maintains annual continuing education requirements
- Able to utilize a teamwork approach
