Job Summary
Psychiatric Prescriber responsible for managing the mental health needs of inmates, assessing referred inmates for psychiatric medication, and overseeing and reviewing charts for accuracy regarding mental health documentation and follow-up. Duties include overseeing inmate mental health care, coordinating with medical and correctional personnel to provide optimized care, rendering accurate diagnoses based on initial interviews, maintaining concise documentation, ensuring alignment with NCCHC/ACA and professional medical standards, collaborating with healthcare staff and security personnel, building professional relationships, following internal policies for clinical processing, and performing other duties as assigned by leadership. Required Qualifications
- Current, valid MD or NP License
- Maintains annual continuing education requirements
