Job Summary
Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including medical history and mental status examinations, and assist in diagnosing conditions such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans while prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications, ensuring effective management of side effects and adherence. Provide psychotherapy, counsel patients, and educate families on self-management strategies. Manage Spravato and IV Ketamine treatments by assessing appropriateness, educating patients, and monitoring vital signs to ensure safety. Respond to psychiatric emergencies and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including therapists and social workers, to deliver comprehensive care. Maintain accurate patient records and progress notes within 48 hours of appointments. Stay updated on psychiatric medicine advancements and maintain required certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health
- Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant with psychiatric certification
- Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner
- certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- Knowledge all health care regulations and confidentiality protocols, including HIPAA
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in psychiatric or mental health settings
- Ability to learn and maintain Electronic Health Record system
