Job Summary
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) sought to assess and treat adolescents and adults with mental health conditions. The NP will provide care across the lifespan, including diagnosing psychiatric disorders, conducting individual psychotherapy, and prescribing psychotropic medications (including controlled substances). Responsibilities include ordering diagnostic tests (EKGs, labs), monitoring medication effects and side effects, documenting in the EHR, and educating patients and families. The role requires collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, adherence to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and ongoing treatment planning and follow-up. Telehealth capability and willingness to obtain additional state licensure are required; Spanish-speaking skills are a plus. This is a full-time, remote-position with a Texas location considered for administrative purposes and standard weekday hours.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner
- Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license
- Experience in Addiction and Mental Health
- Open to obtaining additional state licensures
- Motivational Interviewing experience
- Willingness to work in partnership with the client to achieve goals
- Experience with adults and across lifespan (ages 13+)
- Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and dual-diagnoses
- Telehealth software comfort and video communication readiness
- Eligibility to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not provided
- For Florida or New York license holders, active DEA registration required
