Job Summary
Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnose mental health conditions as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in a per diem, flexible schedule role. Prescribe and manage medications, monitor side effects, and deliver crisis management and preventive care. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (psychiatrists, primary care providers, therapists) to tailor treatment plans, maintain accurate documentation, and educate patients to support recovery. Requires NJ licensure with prescriptive authority and a valid DEA CDS certificate; emphasis on empathy, ethical judgment, and effective patient communication.
Required Qualifications
- Current licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New Jersey
- Prescriptive authority in New Jersey
- New Jersey CDS (Controlled Dangerous Substances) certificate from DEA (mandatory)
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare software
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
