Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Hourly)

Job Summary
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments for child and adult clients, diagnosing illnesses and implementing treatment programs. Promptly document services per State and Federal laws, coordinate care with case managers and other healthcare professionals, and provide crisis intervention and emergency assessments. May serve off-site clientele, including inmates at the regional jail, and collaborate with prescribers to manage pharmacy license requirements. Monitor caseload numbers and productivity needs while maintaining effective relationships with co-workers and customers.
Required Qualifications
- Masters of Science in Nursing
- Graduated from an accredited program for nurse practitioners
- Current certification and/or licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center
- Current certification and/or licensure in Nursing
- Current licensure and prescriptive authority in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Current licensure and prescriptive authority with the DEA
- Thorough knowledge of community behavioral health treatment services
- Knowledge of treatment protocols for individuals with a co-occurring intellectual disability and/or substance use disorder
- Thorough knowledge of the principles of recovery
- Ability to provide professional treatment services consistent with professional licensing in Virginia
- Ability to write concisely and effectively
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated good judgment
- Regular attendance
Desired Qualifications
- At least two years of experience in a mental health treatment setting
- Autonomous prescribing in the Commonwealth of VA
