Job Summary
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients by prescribing medications and implementing psychotherapeutic interventions. Develop treatment plans, measure progress, and adjust protocols as needed while providing crisis intervention. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and therapists to assess and refine care for complex mental health and substance use needs. Complete accurate clinical documentation and coordinate with case managers, families, and stakeholders regarding treatment. Participate in student teaching and departmental quality improvement programs. This 36-hour overnight shift supports an 80-bed behavioral hospital and 26-bed stabilization unit in Brockton, MA, serving acute populations within an accountable care organization.
Required Qualifications
- Masters Degree from a Nurse Practitioner education program (with specialization in mental health) accredited by a Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing-recognized national accreditation body
- At least 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an inpatient, adult psychiatric setting
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Current valid DEA certificate and MA Controlled Substances certificate or eligibility to obtain it prior to start
- Buprenorphine waiver required or willingness to acquire waiver Certification
- Current advanced practice certification by Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing- approved nationally recognized certifying body
- No Medicare or Medicaid sanctions
- Knowledgeable about DMH, DPH, BSAS and TJC requirements for Behavioral Health Facilities
