Job Summary
Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning for adult clients with behavioral health disorders in a nursing home setting. Assess, diagnose, and treat symptoms while prescribing treatments in accordance with a Collaborative Practice Agreement. Coordinate client care with counselors and social workers, manage case loads, and assist with insurance pre-authorizations. Ensure timely completion of medical records, progress notes, and billing entries while maintaining strict confidentiality. Communicate with guardians and family members as clinically appropriate and submit biweekly records for supervising review.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or Doctorate Degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric Nursing
- Graduation from a state-certified advanced practice program specializing in psychiatry/mental health
- At least 1-2 years providing direct client care to persons receiving treatment for psychiatric disorders
- Ability to work with adult populations
- 3+ years of experience as a psychiatric provider
- Experience in telemedicine
- Must be certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMH) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- An unrestricted license to practice as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in the state of Illinois
- Must have a valid DEA number and unrestricted DEA license in Illinois
- A state-issued Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) in Illinois
- Registration with the state Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) in Illinois
- No suspension/exclusion/debarment from participation in federal health care programs (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP)
- Experience in delivering high-quality, client-centered care and ability to document and navigate EHR independently
- Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality
- Effective communication and interaction skills with all stakeholders including adults, family members, staff, grantors, partner agencies, and community members
- Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team
- Strong language skills for reading, analyzing, and interpreting professional documents, and writing reports and correspondence
- Independent decision-making ability
- Teamwork and leadership skills for training and directing colleagues
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to make independent decisions
- Full-time, equal to 40 working hours per week
- Flexible work schedule with hours between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm
- Continuously meet minimum required hours of direct services to clients each week, allowing for documentation, meetings, trainings, and supervision
