PSYCHIATRIC MENTAL HEALTH NURSE PRACTITIONER

Job Summary
Conduct initial and ongoing psychiatric assessments for agency clients through case reviews, clinical interviews, and treatment planning. Evaluate and prescribe appropriate medications with follow-up as needed. Coordinate care with VOANR staff and community providers while maintaining comprehensive case records. Provide program case consultation and education services for agency personnel and collateral partners. Liaise with local hospitals and facilities as required. Maintain Agency standard of expected minimum direct service productivity. Adhere to all VOANR policies, the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, and utilize EHR systems including NetSmart and OrderConnect. Work full-time Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with 25% travel required.
Required Qualifications
- MSN with PMHNP certification with active, unencumbered WY license
- Graduation from a nationally accredited advanced practice nursing program specializing in psychiatry/mental health
- Must be board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMH) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) across the lifespan
- Must have an unrestricted license to practice as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in the state of Wyoming
- Must have a valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number and unrestricted DEA license
- Must have a state-issued Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) in Wyoming
- Registration with the state of Wyoming Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP)
- No suspension/exclusion/debarment from participation in federal health care programs (e.g. CMS)
- Maintain credentials and licensure with all major insurance companies and licensing boards with the assistance of VOANR credentialing staff
- 25 % travel may be required for this position
Desired Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience providing direct patient care to persons receiving treatment for severe and persistent mental illness in a Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) setting
- Ability to work with both adult and youth/child populations
