Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Texas)

Job Summary
Provide direct patient care for medication management, diagnostic evaluations and medical assessments. Educate patients regarding medications, risks, benefits and reasonable outcome expectations. Collaborate with support staff to ensure proper patient communication and follow up. Participate in treatment team meetings and assist Medical Directors with patient-facing tasks as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by Medical Director. This role is scheduled for 40 hours per week, with an expectation of 32 clinical hours and 8 administrative hours. Remote-friendly work setup with virtual care delivery and AI-powered documentation support. Requires PMHNP license and 3+ years of PMHNP experience; EHR proficiency and strong communication across medical, clinical, and administrative staff are essential. Applicants should be prepared for state background checks as part of the hiring process.
Required Qualifications
- Masters of Science in Nursing with a Psychiatric/Mental Health emphasis from an accredited program
- Licensed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- 3+ years experience working as a PMHNP; IOP, PHP, and/or IP experience is preferred
- Experience working with a wide range of ages (children, teens, young adults, adults)
- Commitment to delivery of high-quality, cost-effective health care
- Ability to communicate and work with medical staff, patients, clinical support and administrative staff
- Proficiency in use of electronic health records (EHR)
- Computer and internet skills (Microsoft Word and Outlook)
