Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, consultations, and follow-up visits for adult and geriatric residents while diagnosing and managing behavioral health conditions. Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans, prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, and evaluate treatment response and side effects. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, social workers, residents, and families to participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning. Educate residents, caregivers, and staff regarding diagnoses, medications, and behavioral interventions while maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation. Provide compassionate, trauma-informed, and resident-centered care within a full-time weekday schedule featuring predictable daytime hours, no weekend work, and extensive support from an experienced behavioral health team.
Required Qualifications
- Board-certified PMHNP-BC or Physician Assistant with significant psychiatric experience
- Active and unrestricted Florida professional license
- Active DEA registration
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, psychopharmacology and treatment planning
- Ability to manage a psychiatric caseload independently
- Excellent communication, organization and clinical-reasoning skills
Desired Qualifications
- Geriatric, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care or post-acute experience
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills
