Job Summary
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides direct client care in outpatient behavioral health, including psychiatric diagnostic evaluations to determine diagnoses and treatment plans, prescriptions for pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments, and coordination of care within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include maintaining medical records and timely documentation, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, telemedicine appointments, and collaboration with MD/DO for complex cases, while ensuring compliance with state licensing requirements and ongoing supervision. The role emphasizes autonomy in patient care, a supportive clinical environment, and opportunities for professional growth within Family Care Center.
Required Qualifications
- Masters or doctorate degree from an accredited nursing school, required
- Completion of an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program, required
- At least one year of experience as a PMHNP preferred
- Current Licensed Practitioner with full and unrestricted licensure in the state of practice and active state DEA License required
- BLS from the American Heart Association required
