Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders using evidence-based practices. Develop individualized treatment plans, manage psychotropic medications through prescribing and monitoring, and utilize validated screening tools for therapeutic oversight. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and side effects while providing supportive counseling and coordinating care with therapists, primary care providers, and psychiatrists. Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with organizational policies and refer patients to higher levels of care or community resources as clinically indicated. Ensure compliance with state and federal laws while participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), unrestricted license in the State of Tennessee
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), licensed in the State of Tennessee
- Registered Nurse, licensed in the State of Tennessee
- Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program
- Current DEA registration and eligibility to prescribe controlled substances in Tennessee
- CPR certification
- Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish empathy and provide person-centered, trauma-informed care
- Strong commitment to ethical practice, patient advocacy, and quality clinical outcomes
- Have a strong dedication to a wellness lifestyle
- This position requires a ninety (90) day written notice in the event that the employee is terminating their position
