Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric care including evaluations, medication management, crisis intervention, and psychotherapy for a broad range of behavioral health and substance use disorders. Prescribe and manage recovery medications such as buprenorphine, naltrexone, and acamprosate while collaborating with primary care colleagues to develop coordinated treatment plans. Provide brief psychotherapy interventions, patient education, and clinical consultation to staff across behavioral and primary care disciplines. Participate in case conferences, records reviews, and continuous improvement activities to ensure clinically appropriate and effective services within an integrated outpatient setting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Master's degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing from State Board of Nursing-approved schools of nursing
- Current license to practice nursing in Oregon
- Certified as a PMHNP by the Oregon State Board of Nursing
- National certification as a PMHNP
- Full prescriptive powers in Oregon with a DEA number
- Practicing as a PMHNP for 3 or more years
- Must meet CCC privileging requirements as required by FTCA
- Current BLS certification
- Must meet applicable training requirements for Buprenorphine prescribing
- Ability to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift heavy objects, and climb stairs
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Ability to pass a TB test
- Ability to pass a background check
- Clearance by the DHS Background Check Unit
- No DUI conviction or diversion in the previous 3 years
- No felony conviction in the previous 3 years
- No conviction under the Uniform Controlled Substances Act in the previous 3 years
- Ability to work within an integrated, multidisciplinary setting
- Ability to adhere to agency's non-discrimination policies
- Ability to adhere to Central City Concern's drug-free workplace
- Ability to effectively interact with co-workers and clients with diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, political affiliation, cultural backgrounds, life-styles, and sexual orientations
- Ability to consider the impacts and outcomes for underserved communities during decision-making process
- Knowledge, evaluation and treatment planning for clients with substance use disorders, including both pharmacotherapies and psychotherapies
- Knowledge of evaluation plans and treatment of clients with a variety of psychiatric disorders, with psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions
- Skills in providing patient care, including rapidly building rapport
- Ability to make treatment decisions based on assessment of patients concerns within PMHNP scope of practice
- Ability to provide nonjudgmental and compassionate care to vulnerable, complex populations
- Ability to practice independently and seek consultation when appropriate
- Ability to delegate patient care, as needed, and if appropriate
- Ability to work in a busy clinic setting and responsively attend to unpredictable requests for assistance from colleagues
- Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform assigned tasks
- Ability to maintain accurate records and necessary paperwork
- Ability to remain calm and composed when dealing with clients who are in crisis
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information
- Excellent communication skills including diplomacy, tact, effective bedside manner
- Ability to attend all mandatory CCC trainings in a timely manner
