Job Summary
Provide medication management and evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions as part of a multidisciplinary team. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, formulate diagnoses and treatment plans, assess suicide risk, manage psychiatric crises, and collaborate with emergency services when needed. Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, educate patients on adherence and risks, and administer therapies such as CBT or DBT as appropriate. Maintain accurate medical records in the EHR, complete prior authorization and lab orders, and participate in billing/coding processes. Stay current with psychiatric care developments, uphold confidentiality, and engage in ongoing supervision and case consultation as required.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing
- Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner
- Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) through the ANCC
- Two years of experience as a PMHNP-BC in outpatient psychiatric settings
- Experience with a range of psychiatric disorders (mood, anxiety, psychotic, ADHD)
- Proficiency in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
- Familiarity with EHR systems and documentation requirements
- Knowledge of controlled substances prescription regulations and healthcare laws
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and privacy
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work independently and maintain attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to stay current with psychiatric care developments
