Job Summary
Psychiatric Care Tech provides direct care to psychiatric patients enrolled in clinical trials under moderate oversight. Responsibilities include observing and reporting behavioral changes, assisting with ADLs and meals, supporting problem-solving and de-escalation, assisting with medication dispensing if certified, ensuring adherence to protocol and regulatory standards (FDA CFR, ICH, GCP), and performing assigned duties as needed. The role requires effective communication, basic competency in applying developmental principles to adults with psychiatric disorders, and the ability to work the scheduled on-site shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM) with every-other-weekend rotation. Reports to the charge person/nurse and supports best-practice protocols and site policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- 1-2 years experience working with persons with major mental illnesses
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
