Psych Registered Nurse West Unit

Deliver inpatient psychiatric nursing care on the West Unit, providing safe, compassionate care for adult and geriatric patients. Perform comprehensive psychiatric and medical assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer and monitor psychotropic medications, document patient responses, and participate in crisis intervention when needed. Lead and participate in treatment team meetings, collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other care providers, and engage patients and families in care planning and education. Maintain a trauma-informed environment with de-escalation techniques, assess suicide and safety risks, ensure timely electronic documentation, and support quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives. Support professional growth through mentoring and precepting of new staff within a collaborative, patient-centered environment in the Asheville community.
