Required Qualifications

• •Licensed psychiatric practitioner
• •Scope of practice for psychiatric practitioner in the inpatient setting
• •Ability to complete Urgent Psychiatric and/or Addiction Medicine evaluations
• •Ability to complete Urgent Psychiatric Assessment and/or Addiction Medicine, Ambulatory Detox, or Physical Health Assessments
• •Ability to coordinate admissions, transfers, or discharges to different CBI programs or levels of care
• •Ability to initiate doc to doc communication and coordination of care
• •Ability to evaluate patients at least daily
• •Ability to provide assessment for the appropriate use of seclusion and restraint
• •Ability to write or sign orders for restraint or seclusion within three hours
• •Ability to complete and document an assessment within one hour after order for restraint or seclusion
• •Ability to write a release order or document a second order at the end of three hours if restraint or seclusion needs to be continued
• •Ability to review cases and discharge plans during rounds
• •Ability to document and sign full discharge orders and follow-up recommendations within 24 hours of discharge
• •Ability to remain on the unit for the entirety of the scheduled shift
• •Ability to complete Application for Involuntary Evaluation and Application for Emergency Admission
• •Ability to review applications for acceptance decision within two hours of receipt
• •Ability to notify the Admission Coordinator of the decision
• •Ability to coordinate with the CBI Medical Director prior to not accepting an application
• •Ability to complete a psychiatric evaluation for everyone admitted to the inpatient behavioral health facility
• •Ability to write or sign orders for a pain management evaluation
• •Ability to provide necessary documentation and treatment for patients under petition or court ordered treatment
• •Ability to evaluate each patient for ongoing mental health/psychiatric care prior to discharge
• •Ability to evaluate each patient for ongoing physical health issues prior to discharge
• •Ability to complete orientation as directed by CBI, which includes shadowing another CBI practitioner
• •Ability to complete a TB skin test prior to working with CBI patients and annually thereafter
• •Ability to obtain and maintain a suboxone waiver
• •Ability to maintain necessary patient data logs when treating patients with buprenorphine
• •Evidence of CPR/First Aid prior to working with CBI patients
• •Ability to provide documentation of CPR/First Aid renewal every two years
• •Ability to participate in quality management initiatives
• •Ability to correct identified areas of deficiency within 72 hours
• •Minimum 85% compliance with documentation requirements
• •Ability to maintain a minimum of 85% patient satisfaction
• •Minimum of 75% follow-up rate
• •Ability to complete and document all medication assessments and informed consents by the end of assigned shift or within 24 hours of seeing the patient
• •Ability to review the Controlled Substance Prescription Monitoring Program prior to treatment
• •Ability to utilize e-Prescribing for all patient prescriptions
• •Ability to attend regular staffing and rounds on assigned patients
• •Ability to participate in the development of the patient's treatment plan
• •Ability to provide clinical expertise for the treatment team
• •Ability to give appropriate direction and provide effective communication about patient care activities
• •Ability to support utilization review activities by clearly documenting admission medical necessity and continued stay necessity
• •Ability to facilitate completion of certification of need for Level I admissions
• •Ability to support utilization management activities by providing reviews when requested by payors
• •Ability to ensure necessary documentation and treatment for patients under petition or court order
• •Ability to promote collaboration patient care by communicating with referring and receiving professionals
• •Ability to attend and actively participate in practitioner meetings
• •Ability to actively participate in any state, regulatory, or accreditation surveys
• •Ability to participate in peer review activities and performance improvement projects
• •Ability to comply with agreed upon work schedules
• •Ability to give a minimum of 60 days' notice for time off
• •Ability to coordinate with peers to arrange for coverage for scheduled shifts
• •Ability to notify Director of Medical Practice and Medical Director in the case of an emergency and inability to cover a scheduled shift
• •Ability to adhere to all policies and procedures established by CBI
• •Ability to complete documentation within 24 hours of visit
• •Ability to have new clinical staff of the same specialty or experience shadow them or be trained by them
• •Ability to attend educational meetings as deemed appropriate for their specialty
• •Ability to attend quarterly practitioner meetings
• •Ability to give 24-hour notice if unable to attend quarterly practitioner meetings
• •Ability to contact the Director of Medical Practice as soon as possible if an unexpected event occurs and they are unable to give notice
