Job Summary
Provides patient-centered nursing care in the Emergency Department Psychiatry/Behavioral Health setting. Coordinates and delivers high quality care in collaboration with medical providers and care team, using nursing models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage. Assesses patient pain and carries out procedures, monitoring, and documentation in the medical record. Educates patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures; translates complex information for clear understanding; prepares for self-management and healthy lifestyle changes. Requires RN licensure and completion of specified certifications within set timeframes (TNCC, ACLS or BS, PALS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, etc.). Minimum of 1 year RN experience; ED and Behavioral Health Nursing preferred. Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse Licensure
- 1 year or more RN experience Required
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
- NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
- Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or Bachelors Degree, or Work Experience in lieu of Degree must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
