Job Summary
Conduct face-to-face psychiatric evaluations to determine diagnoses and manage ongoing medication reviews for clients in outpatient behavioral health sites and medical clinics. Collaborate with behavioral health clinical staff and physicians to coordinate care, provide recommendations on treatment plans, and handle phone consultations for emergency medication reviews or prescription refills. Document all psychiatric evaluations, medication reviews, and client contacts while maintaining the Psychiatric Medication Chart and obtaining necessary consent signatures. Maintain permanent confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards while serving diverse communities, including Hispanics, migrant workers, and homeless individuals.
Required Qualifications
- Experience RN. Licensed in the State of Washington.
- Must be licensed as a psychiatric nurse (Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner) with more than five years of experience providing psychiatric services.
- Must be bi-cultural.
- Must be bilingual Spanish/English.
- Must sign an oath of permanent confidentiality covering all patient related information.
- Must receive a background check from DSHS and Washington State Patrol.
- Must comply with all ethical standards of Sea Mar and those required by DOH (Washington State Department of Health).
- Must have no history or evidence of alcohol or other drug misuse for a period of three (3) years immediately prior to the date of employment at the facility, and no misuse of alcohol or other drugs while employed at this center.
- Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire date and is required to maintain current BLS CPR throughout employment.
- Annual influenza vaccine required.
- Must have and maintain TB test annually.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience working with Hispanics, migrant and seasonal farm workers and homeless individuals preferred.
- Interest and flexibility in a variety of person care situations: family care, youth, and adult.
- MHP, prefer certification as minority Mental Health Specialist as prescribed by WAC.
