Job Summary
Provide appropriate medical treatment for urgent or emergent problems, coordinate suspected physical conditions with pediatricians, and arrange interventions for identified medical issues. Perform initial examinations, collect evidence and lab specimens, and review laboratory and radiographic studies in the context of abuse or neglect allegations. Complete chart and case reviews, evaluate developmental trajectories, and advocate for children and families in staffings, court, and system-level situations. Assess risk based on history, discuss safety concerns with Case Coordinators, and complete medical reviews of child abuse reports submitted to the Florida State Abuse Hotline. Participate in on-call/after-hours rotations for acute abuse cases and attend quarterly case reviews with CPT staff. Maintain accurate documentation in the CPTIS system and comply with all state and federal standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited APRN program
- Florida license as an APRN
- Two years of clinical experience working with children
- Experience with working with adults
- Must be 21 years of age
- Negative Drug Screening prior to hire and throughout employment
- Clear Criminal Background Check throughout employment with Suncoast Center and local checks prior to hire and annually along with DCF Level II prior to hire and as required by DCF
- Must have valid Florida Driver's License
- Motor Vehicle checks prior to hire and annually with acceptable driving record maintained throughout employment
- Reliable vehicle
- Valid vehicle registration
- Valid vehicle insurance
- Compliance with Florida Laws and Administrative Codes with fingerprinting and determined to be of good moral character
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite
- Personal automobile
- Must meet company required limits of personal auto insurance
- Approved driver status
- Local travel for court proceedings
