Job Summary
PSW role at Riverstone Retirement Communities in Ottawa/Nepean area for part-time 7:00am–1:00pm shifts (22 hours biweekly). Responsibilities include providing personal hygiene assistance, dressing and bathing residents, setting up and delivering meals, reporting changes to the charge nurse, responding to call bells, assisting with meals, adhering to infection control protocols, and documenting resident checks and incident reports. Requires a PSW certificate or equivalent experience, CPR/First Aid, and 2+ years of geriatric experience; strong communication and empathy for seniors are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Community College Health Care Attendant/Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent experience
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Two years or more experience, preferably in a geriatric setting
- Excellent communication skills
- Empathy for, and understanding of the needs of the elderly
