Job Summary
Provide personal care and support to detainees at the Toronto Immigration Holding Centre in a part-time healthcare role. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living (feeding, lifts/transfers, bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, toileting), providing care under the plan of a registered health practitioner, monitoring wellbeing and safety, communicating with detainees, CBSA, and contracted security, documenting updates and progress notes, collaborating with medical service resources and CBSA, offering mobility and social support, and performing related administrative tasks. Requires PSW certificate and at least one year of recent PSW experience, plus clearanced verification (Reliability Status, Vulnerable Sector Check) and WHMIS certification. Schedule: Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 3 hours per shift, onsite in Toronto, ON; pay range $22-$25 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Copy of PSW certificate from a recognized College
- Minimum one year experience as a Personal Support Worker within the last five years
- A valid RELIABILITY STATUS security clearance (reimbursement for fingerprint form)
- Vulnerable Sector Check (within one year)
- WHMIS Certification (within two years)
