Job Summary
Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum aligned with Head Start Performance Standards and regulatory guidance; conduct developmental screenings and maintain child portfolios; individualize instruction based on observations, assessments, and family goals; promote cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical development; communicate regularly with families about child progress; provide leadership and coaching to classroom staff and volunteers; collaborate with education, health, mental health, and disabilities staff to support children’s needs; maintain program documentation and compliance; ensure a safe, engaging learning environment; participate in staff meetings and trainings; support family engagement through conferences, home visits, and classroom involvement opportunities; maintain confidentiality of child and family information; uphold nutrition and safety practices and model responsive teaching.
Required Qualifications
- Preschool Teacher A requires Associate’s degree in Early childhood education or child development; or Any field and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education or child development AND 6 months of actual work experience teaching preschool age children.
- Preschool Teacher B requires Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early childhood education or child development; or Any field and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education or child development AND 6 months of actual work experience teaching preschool age children.
