Job Summary
Provide appropriate, efficient, and effective clinical medical care for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of human disease and injury. Evaluate patients, obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, order and interpret lab and x-ray data, and prescribe medications within scope of practice. Treat acute injuries, apply splints, suture wounds, and initiate referrals or seek supervision when necessary. Clearly document all visits in the EMR using SOAP format within 24 hours, ensure accurate billing, and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Adhere to quality assessment guidelines, CLIA, and OSHA regulations while participating in staff meetings and teaching health science students. Maintain current licensure, DEA certification, and BLS credentials. Work full-time with rotating on-call duties and no weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in a ambulatory setting
- Ability to maintain appropriate clinical privileges required
- FTCA coverage or private professional malpractice insurance obtainable
- Must have a valid Commonwealth of Virginia Nurse Practitioner license
- Must be Board Certified or Board eligible
- Must adhere to guidelines for meeting re-certification requirements for Nurse Practitioner
- Must maintain current DEA certification
- Must maintain current licensures and certifications and provide copies for personnel file at HealthWorks
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required
