Job Summary
Subject matter expert and primary contact for evaluation and management coding documentation, CPT and ICD-10 for professional fee coding in hospital and ASC settings; conducts provider documentation and coding audits, collaborates with Compliance and Physician Liaison to address documentation and coding concerns, and delivers education on documentation specificity, E&M level selection, procedural charges, diagnosis assignment, and modifier use to ensure accurate coding, legal compliance, and complete charge capture; develops and presents educational content (in-person, online, webinars) and summarizes audit results and action plans for SSH leadership; stays current on E&M, HCPCS, ICD-10, CPT classifications, and provides ongoing coding and payer updates to providers; maintains proficiency through required training and serves as a resource for physicians, billing staff, and administrative teams regarding professional coding/documentation issues.
Required Qualifications
- CCS - Certified Coding Specialist or CPC with Certified Professional Medical Auditor
