Job Summary
Provider Contracting Advisor responsibilities include directing complex fee-for-service and value-based contracting negotiations with large physician groups, ancillaries, and hospital systems; leading market contracting strategy projects; building and maintaining provider relationships to support network growth; coordinating with Claims, Medical Management, and Credentialing to ensure aligned execution; developing strategic network positions and value-based opportunities; managing cost targets and analytics; designing initiatives to improve medical cost and quality; preparing financial impact analyses of large contracts; creating and ensuring accuracy of HCP agreements; and resolving escalated provider issues while leveraging deep knowledge of the local market in a hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of healthcare provider contracting and negotiating experience
- Background in managed care, healthcare, or health insurance
- Proven leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding others
- Strong provider relationship management skills
- Knowledge of complex reimbursement methodologies
- Deep understanding of hospital, managed care, and provider business models
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills
- Customer-centric approach
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation, contract interpretation, and financial analysis skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (industry experience may substitute) or MBA / MHA preferred
