Job Summary
Conduct tests on products, components, and work-in-progress to verify conformity to specifications and proper functioning. Prepare basic tests by studying objectives, standards, methods, conditions, and equipment; select and calibrate test equipment as required. Assemble and disassemble components pre- and post-test, then validate product capability and reliability through performance, environmental, and operational trials. Document outcomes by completing test logs and collecting data, while maintaining the test information database. Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs. Maintain a safe test environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Degree preferred
- Ability to study test objectives, standards, methods, conditions and equipment
- Ability to select and ensure proper calibration of test equipment
- Ability to properly assemble and disassemble components pre- and post-test
- Ability to validate product capability and reliability by conducting performance, environmental and operational tests
- Ability to document test outcomes by completing test logs
- Ability to collect and document test data
- Ability to maintain safe test environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Ability to maintain test information data base by entering and backing up data
- Ability to keep test equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures
- Ability to troubleshoot breakdowns
- Ability to maintain supplies
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance
- Ability to call for repairs
- Ability to readily adapt to change
