Prototype Shop Technician - 3 Month Term

Construct prototype parts, assemblies, and installations from drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions while providing feedback to engineering on designs and theories of operation. Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts or buses, set up and perform tests from requested plans involving emerging technology, and write reports and test documentation using standard office software. Utilize hand and power tools, fabrication equipment, and test equipment, with some lifting and climbing required, while maintaining shop cleanliness and facilitating knowledge transfer across NPD departments. Requires a post-secondary certificate or technology degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience. This 3-month term role supports New Flyer's advanced Xcelsior and Xcelsior CHARGE product lines through NFI Infrastructure Solutions.
