Prototype Machinist A

Job Summary
Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools, including profile grinders, lathes, and mills, to shape parts to engineering dimensions. Apply fundamental machining knowledge to adjust speeds, feeds, and tooling, while selecting appropriate work holding based on specifications. Use precision inspection equipment to verify first-run and finished parts against print dimensions and tolerancing. Review blueprints and instructions to determine operational sequences, ensuring prototypes are created accurately, efficiently, and timely to support product development teams. Maintain safe operations by adhering to strict safety procedures and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- 2-year Technical degree
- minimum 3 years experience in a related field
- Basic CNC programming G&M code
- Experience with Siemens and or Fanuc machine controls
- Prior experience of setting up and programming CNC equipment
- Knowledge of Solid Works, Mastercam, Tool Studio, Vector Cam or equivalent
- R&D mindset
- Strong proficiency in math skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Haas, Mazatrol, Fanuc, Siemens, and/or other machine controls
- Knowledge of Solid Works, Mastercam
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of 6S Principles
