Prototype Build Lead Engineer

Direct the end-to-end process of test vehicle prototype builds, from planning and parts coordination to physical assembly and readiness for validation. Provide technical oversight during vehicle testing activities, identifying, tracking, and escalating issues to ensure test success and product maturity. Lead the creation and maintenance of the Design Verification Plan (DVP) to meet attribute performance targets and certification requirements. Chair regular meetings to communicate test status, manage issue lists, and align priorities with program timelines. Report testing and prototype status directly to the Program Chief Engineer and senior management. Plan and execute vehicle drive events and technology showcases for executives and key stakeholders. Lead the budgeting process for prototype builds and negotiate vehicle quantities and test facility requirements. This role supports successful vehicle development through strategic organizational development and cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.
