Job Summary
Protocol Specialist involved in coordinating official visits, distinguished visitor engagements, and base-wide tours for Coast Guard Aviation Logistics Center leadership. Responsibilities include developing itineraries for visiting dignitaries and officials, escorting visitors, conducting orientation tours for new hires and designated guests, leading specialized tours for civic organizations and government representatives, coordinating meetings and conferences (including AV setup and materials), planning and executing ceremonies and official events (retirements, promotions, awards), providing protocol guidance to command leadership, coordinating recognition programs, supporting public affairs coordination, and assisting with administrative functions and special projects. Requires strong communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently; certification in Protocol within 12 months of hire is required.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic
- Minimum of two (2) years of protocol, event planning, or related experience
- Experience applying protocol and etiquette principles while coordinating events, ceremonies, receptions, and official functions involving senior military leaders, government officials, and distinguished guests
- Must obtain Military/Department of War Protocol Specialist Certification within twelve (12) months of hire and provide proof of completion
