Protestant Religious Education Coordinator

Job Summary

Execute Protestant religious education programs at USAG Hawaii chapels, including regular weekly classes, seasonal events, and Vacation Bible School. Prepare facility reservation forms, design promotional flyers, and track attendance reports for all activities. Coordinate with chaplain staff and pastoral leaders to manage program materials, distribute supplies, and reset learning spaces after each session. Maintain a monthly calendar of events and support the background check rodeo by reviewing documents for child suitability. Perform these duties across multiple military reservations, including Aliamanu, Fort DeRussy, Helemano, and Main Post, during flexible hours totaling 1484 annually.

Required Qualifications

  • 1099 contractor status with Music Ministry International
  • Knowledge of Protestant religious education programs
  • Ability to prepare and provide a monthly calendar of all RE events including special seasonal events
  • Ability to prepare and track multiple documents pertaining to RE programs including facility reservation request forms, RE flyers, and attendance reports
  • Ability to assist in the preparation of program materials including making copies, distribution of supplies and materials, and resetting the space used at the conclusion of RE program activities
  • Ability to attend 100% of COR/DRE scheduled meetings monthly, weekly and as needed
  • Ability to maintain good working relationship with Protestant worshipping communities and their Pastoral staff
  • Ability to execute Protestant religious education programs at AMR chapel and MPC chapel in coordination with Protestant religious personnel
  • Ability to prepare facility reservation request forms
  • Ability to develop flyers for regular and seasonal RE programs
  • Ability to track weekly RE program attendance to coordinate support
  • Ability to conduct regular and seasonal RE Classes
  • Ability to prepare publicity flyers for all special services and events
  • Ability to submit documentation NLT 45 days prior to the service or event
  • Ability to format and organize program materials including curriculum and corresponding supplies
  • Ability to make copies, distribute supplies/materials to learning spaces, and reset of classrooms or RE spaces at conclusion of the program
  • Ability to submit a report of consumed materials and supplies NLT the first business day of the month
  • Ability to be assigned a functional leadership role in Hawaii VBS
  • Ability to prepare resource materials and curate resources for use at the Community Resiliency Expo
  • Ability to attend the community resiliency expo as assigned
  • Ability to restock and manage consumable materials as assigned
  • Ability to prepare and develop flyers for Protestant Community events
  • Ability to submit a report of consumed materials and supplies NLT the first business day of the month
  • Ability to collect all supporting documentation from leaders of the Chapel Communities
  • Ability to assist with high quality flyers and dissemination of RSO Materials at community events, deployment functions, and Resiliency expo
  • Ability to review essential documents for accurate submission of child suitability background checks
  • Ability to establish pre-registration, tracking, quality control of paperwork, and coordination with Fingerprint administrator
  • Three references from individuals who can attest to the candidate's good work and steadiness
  • One reference from a priest or pastor who can attest to the candidate's abilities as they relate to this job posting
