Job Summary
Manage and provide music activities for the Protestant community at Ellsworth Air Force Base, including playing, training, scheduling, and processing music for liturgies. Lead rehearsals and services, assemble a praise team, and coordinate with the Wing Chaplain. Provide opening remarks and prayers, ensure copyright compliance, and arrange replacements for absences. Arrive early for events, recruit volunteers, manage facilities, and deliver audio/visual lyrics. Attend music program-related meetings and Chaplain Corps conferences as needed. This part-time 1099 contractor role involves approximately 112 annual events with compensation based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- 1099 contractor status with Music Ministry International
- At least 4 years of college in music or equivalent experience in a church/chapel setting
- Ability to sing
- Ability to lead worship
- Ability to plan and organize a praise team
- Ability to sight-read
- Ability to arrange music
- Ability to score music
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with volunteers
- Ability to arrive early for rehearsals and services
- Ability to recruit volunteers
- Ability to manage facilities used for music events
- Ability to maintain professional appearance
- Ability to provide audio/visual lyrics
- Ability to attend music program-related meetings
- Criminal history background check clearance (or provisional performance under supervision until adjudicated)
- Ability to return government-owned music and equipment after contract termination
- Ability to ensure copyright compliance
- Ability to provide opening remarks and prayers
- Ability to arrange replacements for absences
- Ability to attend all rehearsals, services, and special events
- Three references from individuals who can attest to the candidate's good work and steadiness
- One reference who is a priest or pastor
