Job Summary
Protect patients, visitors, and employees by providing escorts, patrolling grounds, and mitigating safety hazards while deterring criminal activity through routine patrols of all hospital property. Respond to radio and telephone calls for routine and emergency assistance, intervene in confrontations, and monitor closed-circuit television for escalating situations. Enforce policies regarding parking, visitation, drug enforcement, and smoking restrictions, then document all duties in daily activity logs and incident reports. Remain on assigned post, maintain proficiency with defensive tools and restraint equipment, and ensure vehicles remain clean and free of non-work materials.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of security, law enforcement, or military experience
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training
- Proficiency in the use, maintenance, and safety protocols for defensive tools and restraint equipment
- Strong technical skills in radio communication, report writing, surveillance systems, and access control software
