Job Summary
Protection Engineer - Senior Professional position responsible for design, engineering, and studies of protection systems for bulk power equipment including substations, transmission lines, generators, renewables, and distribution systems. Roles include protective relaying tasks (relay settings, coordination, SCADA integration), protection analyses (short circuit, arc flash, NERC compliance), leadership and mentorship of project teams, data acquisition, and knowledge of IEEE/ANSI/NERC standards. Experience with software such as SEL/GE/SIEMENS tools and ETAP/CAPE/SKM-PTW/RSCAD is preferred; occasional travel may be required. Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (ABET) with Engineer in Training certification; PE license preferred.
