Job Summary
The Protection Coordinator leads RI’s Syria protection work in Northwest Syria, supervising the field protection team to deliver GBV case management, psychosocial support, and child protection services through WGSS, protection units, health facilities, and community outreach. Under supervision of the Project Manager – NWS and Protection Advisor, the role ensures high-quality implementation, provides technical guidance and capacity-building for field staff, ensures compliance with international standards and safeguarding, supports donor reporting and internal evaluations, and coordinates with partners and stakeholders to integrate protection across sectors.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, social sciences, gender/women studies, or other appropriate fields; or field equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in protection programming, specifically in gender-based violence, child protection and/or PSS programs, working with conflict affected populations
- Staff supervisory experience
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and diplomacy skills; able to communicate sensitively and without judgment
- Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of protection principles, including related to case management and GBV
- Track record of delivering high-quality reports, analysis, and technical materials (trainings, program tools, guidelines, etc)
- Fluency in Arabic and excellent spoken/written English
